AIPEF Goes to China

5 members of the Anything Is Possible Education Foundation went on a service trip to He Yang County in the Shaanxi Province of China. We were invited by Bob English Training School to run a two week long English Tutoring Camp.

The camp consisted of two three-hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. During the morning sessions, the AIPEF teachers taught English through games and fun activities. Some of the students’ favorite games were Duck, Duck Goose and Capture the Flag. During the afternoon session we taught English in a more structured classroom setting. We taught lessons on everything from American history and geography to Holidays in the English-speaking world.

Ultimately, our experience in China was fantastic. Not only were we able to help out a bunch of great students, but we learned effective tutoring techniques that we brought back with us.

AIPEF would like to give great thanks to the Richter Memorial Funds and the Stellyes Center for Global Studies for helping to fund this amazing experience. The leftover expenses were paid for out of pocket by the AIPEF members who went on the service trip.

Standardized Test Prep

tutoringACT and SAT scores are simply one piece of the college application puzzle. By no means does your performance on one test define you. However, the score you receive may very well set you apart from other applicants.

Some people pay hundreds of dollars to sit in a room with fifteen other high school students and simply take a practice ACT exam. We are able to offer free ACT and SAT prep for students on an individual or group basis. If a student is struggling with the math portion of the exam, the best course of action is to receive math-specific tutoring as opposed to a generic ACT prep class. When it comes to college admission, applicants come from all over the country and all over the world. The level of competition today is incredible. We are here to offer the support and tutelage necessary to increase ACT and SAT scores.

For local statistics on the ACT, check out our Why ACT Tutoring page!
